      How are living things classified?

      I will know

the general characteristics of the five kingdoms.

      Think

The tree of life is used to explain the complex relationships between the different species on Earth.

Nowadays, scientists divide the branches of the tree of life into three different domains: Bacteria, Archaea and Eukarya.

However, the scheme most often used simply classify living things into five kingdoms: Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista (Protoctist) and Monera (Bacteria).
